Looked under the car yesterday and.....

Yesterday I took the car to have the loose converter heat sheild tack welded - talk about a noise driving ya nuts!

Anyway, while the car was on the wheel lift, I took a good look under it, little minor surface rust under the driver's rocker panel, couple of small scrapes in the trans pan, but the rear springs, holy crap!

The car was lowered by the previous hacker/owner, and both rears were out of the upper cups, and the isolators were missing. No wonder the car bottoms out in the rear so easily, the shocks are bottoming out!

Anyway, soon I will be odering springs, either Eibach or Suspension Techniques, along with some KYB shocks and struts.
I am glad to have noted the missing isolators as I could just picture myslef planning this "one day" project, only to have the car up on jacks in the garage and needing to stop and order/find spring isolators on a Sunday afternoon with a line fourteen deep at the Advance Auto counter. Anyone else know that feeling?

Eric
