Remember that 2.8-for-2.8 swap I helped with?
Remember how me and my other friend were mad that the camaro owner had removed the heads from the "new" 2.8? Yeah well my two friends were talking the other day. My friend joked with the Camaro owner again about all the time we wasted because he removed the heads. So the guy says "I had to!" My friend asks why... the guy answers "Because the motor had a blown head gasket!" So my friend says, "You didn't think to tell us that???"
So the motor we installed, same one that died a few weeks later from some strange noise that I never got to hear before the guy junked the car, was probably dead to begin with. Warped head, rusted out bearings, who knows. Ain't that something. Moral: Never do a swap with your buddy who tells you he got a $100 engine from some guy's garage. And I knew a junkyard that would've sold me a working 2.8 from a junked f-body for $100. (sigh)

Man that sucks.
I remember reading about it. I can't believe some people.
Why would you hold back information like that.
Its not like it was going to hurt him, other then he wouldn't have transportation for an extra day.
Moral: Never argue with a fool, they will take you down to there level and beat you with expierience.
Thought I would add a moral too.

LOL! Yeah, what a shame... oh well, at the very least, I got to do my first engine swap. And yeah, he made that motor shine! 'Course, he always felt the need to paint something right before we were about to put it on- so we needed to wait an hour for the damn thing to dry so we wouldn't mess up the paint.
But that was the worst, waiting for one part to dry so we could keep working. 'Fact, I'm pretty sure I installed the crank pulley when he wasn't looking, and left fingerprints all over it. Or wait, was that the water pump pulley? If it wasn't a pulley, I left fingerprints or smudges on something.
He's a good guy, just one problem; I wanted to get the car Done already so I could have my saturdays free again, and he wasn't in a big rush.
