all 3.1L guys, i got a question for you..
Im doing some research for the cooling board. And i want some info about ur radiators. Some places have the part #'s the same for the 3.1L radiators as the V8 radiators. while GM gives a diff # for all of them. I know they switched the designs of the radiators while going from the 2.8L to the 3.1L. I just want to make sure that the 3.1 rad's are the same as the V8 rads.. both have upper cooling hose on drivers side with cap on passenger. But are they all 3 core? Or are the V6's 2 core? i could use all the info yall can shoot out at me..

My lower hose on my '86 2.8 is at the bottom driver's side of the radiator. It is angled downward, and interferes with putting a wonderbar on. One day I'll throw a v8 radiator in there...
As to the aftermarket companies, they might just make one v8 radiator that does double-duty as a v6 radiator. And they probably charge $10 more for it than the "real GM part #" for a v6 radiator.
I'd go by GM part #'s to find out any "real" differences; if GM has different part #'s, the items are probably different.
Case in point, too; an AC/Delco ignition module for a remote-coil-HEI'd v6 2.8/3.1 is the same GM part # as the AC/Delco ignition module for the remote-coil-HEI'd v8's.
