Orange Spark??

As some of you may know, I have been having problems with my car as of late.

See
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=154474
for Details.

Me and my dad checked the spark that comes from the coil.
Unhooked the wire from the Distributer cap and did a spark test.

The spark was a Blueish-Orangeish-Yellowish color.

Could this be my problem as stated in the other thread?

So I need a new coil?

Thanks.

Yes, your having same issues as my car. Spark has to be hyper white. no blue, orange, red. Start going over that ingntion system. come to find out, I didnt rebuild my distrib right. So look at that also.

ORANGE???? Dang.... Orange is a cold color temperature when it comes to sparks or flames..terrible for ignition! Your car must run like total @ss....

I posted a thread on here about coils and I've heard the most positive stuff about the Hypertech coil...some run an MSD coil also....I hear Accel's just as good as the MSD....as long as it puts out 53,000 volts or so..stock is only 38,000. I ordered me a brand new Hypertech coil off of Summit this morning...after handling fees, it came to $67. Food for thought.

ALSO...if the spark is that weak...how long have ya been driving it with it running badly? Weak spark = running rich = fouled spark plugs....you're probably gonna have to do those too.
