V6/60 Fuel Rail Question (2.8/3.1)

Hey guys,

You know the V6 fuel rail that the injectors bolt on to? Well,
I have a V6 Fiero which uses basically the same engine. The only difference
is that the Fiero's fuel rail has a screw in fitting for a cold-start
injector on the end. On the Fiero, a small fuel line attaches to the
fuel rail and makes it's way to the side of the intake manifold where
the cold start injector is plugged into.

My question is now, since the 2.8 and 3.1 Camaros obviously don't have this
set-up, where exactly IS the cold start injector then?

I was thinking that if I could figure out how the cold start injector is
set-up on the Camaros / Firebirds, then I could do the same thing to my
Fiero. THEN!! I would have that cold-start injector fitting on the side of
the fuel rail available for a NOS wet kit.

What do you guys think? Is this possible?

Thanks!

From: Elkton MD USA
Car: 1983, 1986
Engine: 2.8 2bbl, 2.8 MPFI
Transmission: 200C 3 speed, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.08, 3.42
2.8 Camaros had the cold start injector. 3.1 camaros did not. Both my 85 and 86 cars have it. Probably best to use the 2.8 rail with your new injectors

OR, you could swap tothe better S/D harness/computer and be rid of the CSI(Cold Start Injector), and have no worries about any foul ups about usung the extra port for NOS wet.

AS everyone knows THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FIEROS & F BODIES & PROBABLY FWD MPFI Vintage stuff.
Why ya bothering to reinvent a wheel?
Slip the newer injectors onto the old Fiero fuel rail item, slip newer 3.1 FPR rubber under old cap already in use as the Fiero FPR start driving sooner.
F Bodies cold starts are on the intake atleast my 1985 cold start set is there, I believe.
THE TO BE USED FUEL RAIL MUST BE SPOTLESS INSIDE the tube. NO dirt at all.
I'm pissed because the Fiero exhaust manifolds are not interchangable with 3rd gen F Bodies.
WHY, no EGR provision on the exhaust manifold.
Fieros have EGR set up on some cross over tube.

The differences between the Fiero engine and the Camaro / Firebird engine are soo small, that any additional power that the Fiero has (10hp more) can be made up by pretty much anything...
the only shortcomming that the 2.8 Camaro / Firebird has is that they only came with 13lb injectors where as the Fiero came with 15lb injectors.
