Hello i have a 85 firebird berlinetta coupe with a v6 and 2520000 kms on it , my father bought it for me back in july as a bribe to do good in school.We are slowly restoring it back to its original shape, i find that there is'nt enough power to suit the look of the car.Is there anything i can do to get some more power without puting in a differnt engine. the engine winds up pretty fast, i belive the engine is a 2.8 multy-port-fuel-injection.

First, welcome to the board!!!!

Quite a few things you can do for power.

First of course is a major tune up. Use the search button in upper cornor and fill in "tune up" in subject, and author "TOMP".

Then things to modify for more power.
1. Dynomax cat back (part # in my siggy)
2. Performance coil (accel, hypertech, msd any one of them brands)
3. 8-8.5mm spirol core spark plug wires.
4. Asp crank pully
6. FULL brass cap/rotor
7. New air intake system, this is a MUST. Stock sucks. Some create their own, I opted for v8 TPI intake system.
8. Cam if you want to break engine down that far.
9. Roller rockers

Them are the most commen, I may have more in my siggy, along with other siggys.

thanks for the info. the first thing i gotta do is a tune up, then my brother said he'd make me a CAI . well as of now i really can't do anything because its so damn cold. but when it gets warmer and i get my final licence it will be moded to no end. thanks again for the info and for the welcome.
