18" wheels on a V6

I just got a set of these 18" wheels and I was wondering if anyone else with a V6 had 18" wheels.

Well, I will tell you this, the bigger the rim, the more the weigh (for the most part) so thus by putting that size rim on your car will most likely make it slower. As for handling the car would probably handle better to my belief if they are wider. Don't get huge rims and no width like the r i c e r s....

I got them yesterday. My car doesn't seem any slower than usual. Yes my car does handle better and look better. I think these wheels gives my car a really nice look.:lala:

Are those rims coated in any way???

I get tired of the elbow greese factor in having nice rims.
I wanna powder coat the chrome ones I got now.

I have a set of 98 Corvette C5 wheels for my car. I havent put them on yet, but I cant wait. The 18in wheel feels lighter then my 15in stocker. Just in my opinion!

91FIREBIRDGT - how wide are the rims you got? And what kind of tires did you decide on?

The additional weight is not significant enough to make the car feel slower. Technically it will make the car slower, but you would never notice.

I would like to see the rims on the car too.

they're 18X8's with 235/40/ZR18's on them. tires are falken tires. I didn't go with 18X9.5 cuz they'd rub in the front, and i want all of them to be the same size so i can rotate the fronts to the back.

235's are pretty good sized tires..I'm running 235 60 15's with my stock rims, but with the height..18 in.......the extra height will kill handling...should make your turn ins all sloppy, etc.. Mostly it's in the bite...raises center of gravity too, increasing body roll. That's what I've heard at least.

235's, I did not even see that. I guess you like that Euro look where the tire is almost flush with the rim, unlike the more popular 245's on an 8" wide rim.

I went with that tire size because the outside diameter of the tire is exactly the same as the original tires. Meaning if i put my old wheels and tires next to the ones i have now, they'll be the same height. This won't affect my speedometer in any way cuz its the same amount of rotation.
