If I was to wire the 3.4 engine up for the 3.4 ECM (would love to keep the 2.8 stuff to keep is simple and make it a fast swap) I know it would be detailed but how much time are we talking? To do this you would have to use the 3.4 computer and intake also right? Or could I still use the 2.8 computer?
Since I am new to the electrical side when it comes to cars is the ECM under the dash or in the engine bay?
I guess I could wire in the ECM stuff but not connect anything and then when the swap comes just un plug the 2.8 ECM and plug in the 3.4 ECM.
Something tells me I am going to have to do a full wiring swap.
Does the benifets far out weight the cons on the 2.8 to 3.4 ECM?

I'm working on putting full 3.4l sfi-dis in my s10
Wiring is not simple of unplug and replug, TRUST ME
2 months to trace, jumper, lengthen, shorten the wiring.
Have to have ac lines MADE to fit.
You want easy swap, just do the popular block/head/crank/cam swap.
Benifits of 3.4l sfi-dis...
Few more mpg, no distributor.
Down side, if you want to pep it up, no oversized tb, have to buy 3 coils rather then 1, will need specail headers.
