i have a 88 camaro v6 2.8L and every time i nail the gas it you can hear the rpms goin up and down and it goes fast than slow then fast and i was just kinda hoping i could keep it goin fast. i think it might be running on 5 cylinders and the 6th one starts goin when it picks up speed but i dont really know.

 

replace the coil. might be your problem, mine did that a while ago, new coil got rid of it. Then you should do the TomP tune up. Makes your car run like new(almost). Good Luck.
