high rev's

Hi
When I start my car the revs go up to 2000 rpm,
and even when it is warm it stays there for two days now I have had to drive 25 miles to work with it like this.
I have tried a different IAC but no change and I have checked for vacuum leeks but can not find any,
I have also cleaned out the TB
Any help PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Alex

Check the vacuum connection on the intake manifold at base of distributor. Driver side.

dude, i think I may have found the answer. Remember, i was having a very similar problem with mine? I finally decided that my return spring on my throttle was weak, so i went down to Pep Boys and bought a Carb return spring and bracket for like $6. I'll take a picture of it tonight and show you how I did it. But now my car snaps back to idle without even the slightest complaint.

Possible the throttle position sensor too I imagine... No check engine lights I assume...

here's what I did, the spring attaches to this empty hole I have on the throttle linkage. I think it's where the TV cable connect for the auto trans, but since I have a 5-speed, no cable. Hope this helps a little.

yup, runs smooth as butter now. cost like $6 and it works like nothing was ever wrong. doesn't even phase the cruise control either. Well, that's a lie, my cruise used to run 2-3 mph higher than I had it set, now it's right on the money.
