Whats wrong with my car?

I bought the car - see name- last fall, and only got around fooling with it for the past month. I did a full tuneup, replaced a bad MAF, fuel filter ect. It drives well exept for two things. Sometimes while I'm driving I can hear a constant hum from the back of the car like a pump or somthing. The car also stalls out sometimes. Not at any perticular time though. I could be stopped at a sign, pulling into a parking lot, or the most recent and annoying - in the middle of a turn. Half the time it starts up instantly. The other half it takes a good 3-4 seconds to start, and then sometimes it will slowly idle slower and slower untill it just cuts out. Temp. doesn't seem to be an issue because it has been both warm and cold here on and off and I don't see any coordination with it and the problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like fuel pump to me. It might be starting to go bad, so it works intermitantly(sp?). Most of the time it's ok, but if you go into a turn where the feul level might not be perfect conditions for the pump, it does deliver. This could also cause the slowly dying symptom because it stops delivering the fuel pressure needed by the engine, so it gets less and less gas to the injectors, causeing the engine to die.

Check it out, get a fuel pressure guage. There is a schrader valve on the back of the intake on the fuel rail, it looks like a tire valve. you just screw the guage on and turn the key to on. I don't know the exact specs on this, but I think it's like 45 psi or something. You can do a search for it, it think it's in the tech articles. Someone else will probably leave a post telling you what it is.

You can even leave it plugged in and let the motor run for a few minutes at idle and see if the pressure holds steady, if it fluctuates without changing the throttle position, chaces are your pump/regulator might be going bad. I'm sure others will chime in with more detailed info on this.
