Vacuum Lines
Does anyone know where the freakin' line that goes to the vent controls goes into the car. My hard plastic line broke off and I cant find the stupid place where it goes inside the car. I know it's behind the engine somewhere on the firewall, but my first thought was that it goes into the egine control wire loom and enters the car throught there, but it doesn't. Where else?

Ouch, that sucks... I always wondered what'd happen if that broke.
There's a mini-harness that comes out of the firewall, it's between the a/c condensor box and the engine.. somewhere in that area, I think. Not sure how it goes into the car. Let us know what you do with it!

cool, i'll take a look at it tonight and try to fix it. Basically all that happened was the line broke off, so I capped off the manifold line with a peice of hose with a screw shoved in it. Now the vent controls just blow defroster. I don't mind it much, since it would probably be on defrost anyway, but I would like to be able to get in my car and warm up my toes.

all right, I fixed it. I now have Vent, Floor, and Defrost working again. TomP, the line goes into the firewall right below where the heater water lines go in. Right where you said it would be.
There's a big (about 2" around) gromet, and I just shoved a peice of vacuum line right down the middle of it with the rest of the wires and crap that goes down there.
On the back of the heater controls, there is a purple line that comes out of a wire loom, splits into two lines, and one lines goes off to the left of the controls behind the blower switch, and the other connects to the junction for the vent controls.
I cut the line right between the split and the wire loom so I could keep that part intact, and shoved the new line right over the end.
Put everything together and it works like a champ. Hasn't been like that in like a year or so. Now my footsies can be nice and toastie!
