4.3 conversion???

How hard would it be to install a 4.3 liter engine that is carbed into my S-10 4x4? When did the block on a 4.3 to where you could not make it a carbed engine?

Thanks

You're totally wrong board but I'll throw this out.
1985 was last year for carb'd Blazers of V-6 series.
1986 started TBI on the 2.8 engines.
I believe it was 1988 or short time after that the S-10 carried the 4.3 series & it was always a TBI.
Here's my 1985 Federal version S-10 Blazer with a 1995 Camaro 3.4.
I do only CA Smog Legal conversions.
Hope this is a guide for ya

Karl, some 4.3's in the S-10 and S-10 Blazers (not sure about JUST the S-10, but I know for a fact in the Blazers) came with CPI instead of TBI.

92-94 blazers, and limited trucks had a version of the 4.3 CPI.

92-96 you could get a vortec version of the 4.3, (advanced cpi I guess).

Then they moved on to the 4.3l that is used now, sfi, fueless throttle body.

Belive it or not, the 92-96 4.3 vortec has the most power, around 190-210hp.
