I cant tell you how to do it...but I can tell you that you have to remove the distributor to do it. If you're going to do that to put in a pickup coil, you might as well do a full distributor rebuild. There are several people on the board that can give you much better info on this than me though.

Nixon is right, you will have to pull distrib to change pickup coil. And do that, might as well do a rebuild on it. I recently did one on mine, it needed it. Not hard to do with basic handtools.

Since I know the subject
LEAVE IT ALONE!
Who knows how fragile the heated over time wires may be or how brittle is the plastic.
It the car ignites, ejnoy the privlidge.
Yea, ya remove the entire distributor to change that pick up coil.
Sucks don't it?
The plus is rebuild the whole distributor for slipping onto a 3.4 powered mill!

NOW
Would someone be kind and explain the meaning of the usage of *****, here.
Hell, I've seen more "ho's" on Susnset & Hollywood Blvd.
Julia Roberts was a "Ho" in "Pretty Woman"
How did I rise to "ho" status?
I heard about "pimping" & it's really hard for me to understand how its good to be a "pimp".
From" A Little Lost"
Besides, if ya gotta pull a engine, might as well install a decent worthwhile replacment.

Exactly thats why when my 350 died in my firebird i put a 455 in your there do it right the first time and dont have to worry about going back. besides whos gonna complain about more power. Theres no replacement for displacement.

Some say the replacement for displacement is technology. And no, thats not from import guys either, thats from some 4th gen people at another camaro site.

Dale has a point there....you seen some of the 4 bangers pushing over 200-300 horses? That's on 4 stinky little cylinders... And those bastards get like 30 mpg too. Sad to say it, but low displacement and high technology is the future. 4 cylinders are here to stay....

I wasn't and dont plan to start a flame war, please nobody take prev post the wrong way.

I do agree that if you do the same mods to a larger displacment engine, of course you will get better results with more power.

But Nixon is right, way the future appears right now will be smaller engines with better technology, and better mpg.

3.4l ohc engine=160hp.
3.4l dohc, 24 valve=210+hp

Gotta be the technology.
