TV detent cable swap

I just recieved a new TV detent cable and I was wondering how hard is it to swap and to expect. The reason I am changing the cable is because the metal tang that adjusts the detent cable is frozen stuck.

I figured that would be the hard part. I tried using pliers to squeeze that plastic part but to no avail.

its not hard, but its a pain in the butt.

I hate dropping the tranny pan, its times-taking, but its not hard at all.

From what I remember (although it's been a few years), you don't need to drop the trans pan. Remember to clean all the dirt/grime away from the grommet where the TV cable enters the trans case BEFORE you undo the 10mm bolt at the trans. You don't want crap falling into the pan!
