Woooohooooo!!!!

My car made it past the 200,000 mile mark this weekend...and with excellent gas milage too.

I went from L.A. to Fort Huachuca, AZ and got a whopping 30 m.p.g. on all highway miles!!!I took a picture of my odometer reading 0's all the way across, so that's kinda cool.

But now I have a small dilema...it kinda bogs when you step on the gas from a stop light or another point where it might be idling. It didn't have a problem yesterday when I was driving, but it seems like it's scared that I'm gonna make it work again.

It doesn't drive weird once I start going, just from idle. If I tap the gas to bring the rpm's to about 1500, then start to go, it's fine, like it's running rich at idle of somthing.

What could this be? Here's a list of new stuff, so that it's outta the way: Coil, Wires, Cap, Rotor, IAC, TPS, and Vacuum lines.

Thanks Guys and all :hail: the Camaro gods!!!

As long as it drives, starts & makes it from point a to point b w/o breakdown, consider yourself lucky.
I don't believe it was a wise decision to make that too long a trip on an aged engine.
I rent cars for long trips like that.
Safer on my mind with my family in the Firebird.
You could have aged engine just due to the trip & the result is what's happening now.
Start shopping for a used 3.4!
If ya want my wrecking yard contact, let me know, happy to help ya that way.
His yard is in downtown LA.

175,000 and still rolling *knock on wood*

It can't make it across town half the time, but seems it made it fine from arkansas-iowa-arkansas. And arkansas-oklahoma-arkansas.

Strange

ok, here's what I did this morning. checked the plugs, they need to be replaced, so that's on the list. I should have replaced them while I had them out, but didn't have another car to get to the auto store, so i would have had to put them back in anyway.

While I was there I did a compression check, 165psi on damn near every cylinder. They all held the pressure for 10 minutes, so I think it's a safe conclusion that I have a pretty good seal on the holes.

Air Filters need to be replaced, I think I might actually get some K&N's finally. Do they really work a lot better? Seeing as they are freaking $30 each...and I need 2, is it worth it?

I get a good spark, so I think the problem lies in fuel. I think that running AZ gas in there on a decently used fuel filter may have given it it's last push over the edge. So that's getting done this weekend too.

Plus...the very exciting part of my newest news...I turn 21 on Saturday. Just had to share. What a great day that'll be, sleep, work on my car, and have a beer while working...legally =D

K&N's actually do work much better. So far as the price, you could always think of it this way ... their warrentied for 100,000 miles. So you won't have to change them till you hit 300,000. Only thing you'll need after you get the filters in a recharger kit which will do about 4 filters or so before needing to get another one of them. Well worth the money up front if you ask me and saves money in the long run.
