Update on my bird

Well a while back it had an electrical problem with the fuel pump, so I hooked a wire(fused) directly from the battery, well it starts if you push the gas down, kinda like you do on carbs, why is it doing this and not just starting up nice?? Any ideas? Oh yea, and I also drove it a little ways, damn I love my fbody alot more than my jbody

Check your EGR and make sure that it is not stuck wide open. If it is just clean and you should be fine. Mione got stuck open and I could only get the car to start if I held the gas down a bit.

So you have a direct wire running to your pump. So when your turn your key on the fuel pump is constantly running? As in there is no intial prime, then a click after it turns off before you start your car.

Just trying to get some more info so others can give some insite on the problem.

ok I have a wire from the battery spliced into the fuel pump power wire, I hook the wire I put in onto the battery. I hear the pump run, then get in my car and let it crank nothing... Try again and it does the same so I push the gas down some and it starts.

Well I am still not sure. But I have an idea for your "jumper wire" you made. Why don't you get a cheap switch. Run the wire to the switch in the interior, then back to the pump. That way you could just turn it on from inside the car rather then jumping under the hood all the time.

Maybe your problem has something to do with the time the pump now runs before you get it started. Normally the pump is on for what 4 seconds, but now by the time you jump in the car and kick it over twice probably 10 or so seconds have passed and the pump is forcing too much fuel in... I don't really know just a thought.
