Electrical Gremlins

The demons have struck the 88Fbird V6. Heres a list of what does not work (in order of significance to my 16yo son):
1. Radio/Clock
2. Door locks
3. Dome light
4. Turn Signals

These items just quit working all at once.

Any suggestions on potential cause(s)?????

Fuse, its a 20 AMP that runs all of those. I think it says Courtesy on the panel.

Radio/clock, dome, and door locks are on the accessory fuse...

Turn.. uhh.. I could swear those are on a different fuse.. but then again, they do only operate when the car is "on"... Your son probably managed to short/overdraw the cigarette lighter and take the fuse out. 20 amp, labelled ACC

OK. The accessory fuse fixed everything but the turnsignals.
Where are the "flasher" units physically located?

Found them, both of them.
One is mounted on a drop down board under the panel beneath the steering column. The other is "dangling" just inboard of the fuse panel. Hope this helps somebody else, too.

He doesn't keep change in the ashtray, does he? Those coins are a perfect match for shorting out the lighter socket! My blinkers were reallly slow a while ago... everyone was telling me "battery! alternator!", but they were fine. Dropping in a new blinker can fixed it... the blinkers blink at a normal speed now. Only thing I hate about the new can is that it's electronic, and not thermal... when I use the "lane change" feature of the blinker switch, I don't get an immediate blink out of the blinkers. It takes a second or so for the blinker to kick on- and by then, I've already changed lanes. I gotta dig up an original GM blinker one of these days..
