Automatic to Manual
I have a transmission from an '85 Firebird 2.8L MPFI, and want to put it in an automatic '91 Firebird 3.1L MPFI... should this be an easy swap or is the 2.8 Tranny different from the 3.1?
Thanks for the help..

As long as you got the tranny, flywheel, clutch setup, pedals, and all the odds and ends, yeah.
That '85 flywheel will prolly need to be neutral balanced, tho. I think they went neutral in '87, but not sure.

The switch to neutral balancing took place in 87. A new neutral balanced flywheel will run you about 110 bucks at Autozone if you can't find one in a junkyard. No idea how much it would cost to have it rebalanced if you already have it, though I'm not sure the implications of rebalancing a flywheel either (personally, the concept kinda scares me)
