For TomP regarding tuneup

Hey TomP, havent had a look at your tuneup yet, heard a lot about it. One question though, I am seriously mechanically challenged, really dont know anything about engines (trying to learn though). What would you suggest that I could do on my own without destroying my engine, especially from your tune up? am getting sick of paying the mechanic to keep it in tune, especially after hearing that they really dont do much in a tune up!!! Thanks!

You can do it all. There's two reasons for a major tuneup. First: It puts your car back in "factory" running condition, and gets rid of any troubles due to lack of maintenance. (Unless your engine's shot to hell, of course. ) Second: You learn the car by working on it. Just buy the manual(s) I mention.

To find the tuneup, use the button... either click it here, or it's located at the upper right of every screen of thirdgen.org's message area. Put in "major tuneup", written by "TomP", on the "V6 forum".

Ah hell, here's the link anyway... https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=162251
