Call Mr. Fred Gerle at 602-266-1964
Tell him you'd like to volunteer your car for this mission also.
They will need a car that is 100% factory stock from exhaust manifolds to the CC. Which is 99% of our rides on this board.
Right now it will take two days of your ride being at PaceSetter for fitment.
They will make the pipes to install & will install on your car, then remove & send the "product" to CARB in El Monte, CA (LA area).
THE MORE VOLUNTEERS arriving at PaceSetter the better for all of us!
This shows REAL SUPPORT for the product they will make & sell to us!!

Please give Mr. Gerle a ring today to also volunteer, if you so choose to accept that mission.

He's a wonderful person & so is PaceSetter.

PaceSetter & Mr. Gerle listened to a voice calling out for a HiPo product for us, the lowly 60* V6!

THANK YOU!!!!
I'd have been there already but house reconstruction forbids my volunteering DRAT!!!
It would be a very educational mission that I'd love to witness.
We have/had a volunteer that wanted to arive from Oregon for this!.
WHERE WERE YA A FEW WEEKS AGO LOL!!!!
Thanks for responding to the call for help for every Third Gen member!

Yes, it seems this will really really be happening, a street legal header set up for our rides!
Ever since our V6 rides hit the street (1982!!!), NO ONE ever made this product. Now over 11 years after this combo (3rd Gen & V6) faded from the dealership (1992!!!)... this is one real accomplishment.
THANK YOU LUKE!

KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS!!!

Well, I called Mr. Gerle at Pace Setter. He says that they already have a volunteer (who is it?). But he took my name and # if that person falls through. Hope it does I like the idea of telling people that my comaro held prototype headers. oh well

CamaroStud1988 and Karl are the real header heroes and I don't think we'll need another volunteer but thanks for being too late. My Thanks to Karl and CamaroStud1988.

HEY WE ARE ALL HERO'S HERE!
It is US who is determined to make a product happen for us!
Come & Listen To a Story...
Awhile back I wrote to Vic Edelbrock seeking this same product, street legal headers for our rides.
I even interviewed with his daughter Cammee for a position in her department. During the interview I even mentioned about the lettter I wrote her Dad, seeking street legal headers for our rides.
Couldn't care less if I didn't work for Cammee (she's still a decent girl), but was royally pissed I never got a single reponse from Vic.
I heard about Vic from one that also knew him personally & that he was kinda snooty.

My response to Vic Edelbrock was "OH YEAH, I'll find a manufacturer that will believe in our market & our money. I'LL SHOW YOU!".
That's why I pressed on & eventually found PaceSetter & Mr. Gerle.

Hey Luke, THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE FEW to say hi to Mr. Gerle. Darn, ya too late but, atleast it shows PACESETTER HOW MUCH WE ALL CARE ABOUT OUR RIDES!

Hey you crazy guy from Oregon, love your state coastline! Especially above the California Border on the PCH! Spent a wonderful 2 evenings up there last year & can't wait to revisit with my family again.

WE ARE ALL HEROS and we have each one of US to thank!
Think of it this way...
Without US GREAT 60* V6-ers, we wouldn't have the BEST PART/TOPIC ON THE THIRD GEN.ORG!

WE ARE ALL HEROS!
I just got a more stubborn streak, perhaps!
And a way to find the path to what I want.
I'm an EX NEW YORKER, wha ya want!

Well Luke lets say you have a 5speed and CS has auto ya never know or lets say that year barrier needs to be broke 82-83. Ya might be able to get in on some action.

CS, I doubt their going to pull a set of headers off once they get them bolted on. At a bare minumum you will probably get one heck of a discount.

5 words or less answer
NO 1 IS PROMISED ANYTHING EXCEPT-

We get a product that is street legal.
AND WE HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR THIS PRODUCT! RIGHT?
What ever is offered, we've gotten this far.
Let's not be piggish!

PS I HOPE I'M ALLOWED TO BUY THE PRODCT THAT WAS IN FOR THE TESTING at CARB in El Monte. I want to bring that set to Vic Edlebrock & shove it up his snooty nose!

In ALL my conversations with Mr. Gerle & PaceSetter NEVER have I asked CAN I HAVE A DISCOUNT OR FREE SET OF THOSE HEADERS CAUSE I THOUGHT OF THIS.
I'd never be that stupid.
Don't kill the goose before the EGG IS HATCHED!!!!
Let us all await and see what the end result will be.
REALIZE THIS
WE CAN/WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE STREET LEGAL HEADERS FOR OUR RIDES.
What's wrong with that?
Let's NOT be piggish!

THANK YOU FOR THAT RESPONSE
Everyone, let's see how this all plays out
IT IS TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES
It's nothing SHORT OF INCREDIBLE that a discussion has lead to the possbile production of a product for a dead engine & a dead car.
Keep sending short notes of support & THANKS to CamaroStud1988, our two back ups Luke & Elevario, our forth nutcase from Oregon, Xophertony and Especially Mr. Fred Gerle, whom has considered this product from the beginning.
It is Mr. Gerle and the company he represents, PaceSetter, for true responsiblity for the final Yea or Nay say on the creation of this product, Street Legal Headers for our 3rd Gen V6 rides!

Does anyone here realize it takes atleast $5,000 to send a product to CARB for the certification process?

Anyone else here know how hard it is to take $5,000 of PROFIT money and make that sum, again?

Keep supporting and THANKING all for the effort & help they are offering.
KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS

Karl, the Beach Boys are coming to perform at "The Taste Of Newport" this year (Only one member has to show though under contract ) But if you are interested- I usually can request and get Free tickets from one of the Newport Beach Council members that I am very good friends with. I think its around late Aug or Early Sept. If you want some let me know and I'll ask.

I know I am already getting two tickets- but thats for the wife an I- Let me know if you are interested and I'll try to get two more.

Socialdeviant= CHC

This is the clown that ripped everyone off on the headers.

It is true that C.A.R.B. will test them for free- here's the catch- You first submit a set of headers to them with the proper paperwork completely filled out. They will then later contact you and will authorise you to take a test vehicle to one of their "Test Only" stations for a free smog check test. If the product passes, then they proceed with the certification process which will START with a very large fee up front at that time.

Actually Karl that is true. It costs nothing to have them tested but.............................................It costs to have them approved.
I wasent implying anything by my previous post about them getting anything for free, sorry if you misunderstood me.

Anyway. Lady with the RS called, said theres one more person comming to look at it and she would let me know at the end of the week. Fingers crossed...........
