seat belt guide?
posted this in Body and Interior topic sic hours ago, no response. i'll ask you guys, you will know.
i have an 86 firebird and i just purchased it. prior owner put seat covers on. he removed the head rest mounted seat belt guide. i found some at a junkyard, how do i get the seat belt through them? the lower seatbelt clip (where it meedts door frame) is way to big to get through ad it does not come into smaller peices, (that i can tell) if anyone yhas anny advice on how to do this it would realy help. thanks in advance

I'm kinda confused as to what you're asking here, but there should be two screws at the bottom of the seatbelt clip. (one on the outside and one on the inside,) just remove the outside one, and slide the seatbelt down and out of the clip, then re-install in opposite order. Hope thathelps.

The text in the attached picture came out more blurry then I thought... I should have set the quality to save it in higher! OOps... well here is what it says.
Your other option, being the harder one, is find a convertible thirdgen, with the same trim color or what not, and their seat belt guides are already split!
I did not feel like trying to find the convertible ones, and I did the same thing when I installed my 4th gen leather T/A seats. I did the same cut and put the seat belt through. (Pictured below)
What I did was make a cut through this section as careuflly as I could. Make the cut directly between the two screw holes. Then when I screwed it back together the two screws brought the cut nice and tightly together & you can barely see it unless you are REALLY looking for it.
