just out of curiosity, what was included in the basic WS1 suspension package? (Since that's what I have , sniff sniff, no WS6!!!) and what possible cheap upgrades could I do to it, if any?

Here's the deal.
SIMPLE CHEAP!
SEEK in wrecking yards
the Trans Am/Z28 stuff!
You want the
steering box (yes steering ratio is different/better)
front & rear swap bars
Aftermarket
You want
Struts/shocks
DIRT CHEAP IS
4th Gen rear shocks are the same as the 3rd Gen rear shocks from wrecking yard
Next is Springs which ARE NOT V8 spec'd!
After that is a
FULL ON NEW STEERING LINKAGE & Ball Joints & ALL that stuff!
Then you compliment it by new rear bushings and and...
Lot of Labor
Cost varies to about $20-$200-$600 plus yours or their labor
Hit the yards see what ya can start to score for cheap! attach by a polyurathene kit & it's a simple cheap start for ya, steering box swap do at full on steering linkage time.
I recently paid like $120 for Gabriel struts & shocks & $40 for all four install (a deal at local Pep Boys). Excellent for the cost I spent. Better struts& shocks cost more & this was better than leaking original stuff!
My 85 Firebird has the Y99/F41 combo which is a WS6 set up for the 6's. Others also have this.
Specs are the Trans Am sway bars, different springs, that different ratio steering box & factory turbo styled 15x7 wheels.
