ok.........The air filter housing on the V6 3.1L sux. I sucked water in through my air filter and into my engine. Replaced my engine and still have the same filter housing ( changed the filter of course ) I was just wondering if K&N made a special filter that will mount on my throttle body so I can raise it out of the water a little. Cause you know I want to keep my engine. So does anybody have any ideas?

 

one question....how/why in the world did you go through water deep enough to get it into the intake? which intake does your car have? i have a homemade cold air intake, filter is in the same spot as the stock canister. never had i problem.

 

What kinda water are you driving in?? Is your intake homemade or something? The stock intake is level with the headlights.....you been driving into lakes lately? The thing is, the throttle body is 3", but it's oval. If you can find a filter with a 3 1/2" or 4" inlet, it would probably work...but good luck finding one! Most are 3"...that's the universal size. Also, you can try getting a 3" inlet conical, like an Autozone cheapie import conical, and attach it to the end of that stock flex-tube coming off the throttle body. It's a tight squeeze but it slips inside. But this intake sucks, because the filter picks up hot air off the radiator, and when the fan kicks in especially, the car loses a LOT of power.
