She's running again!!! But......

Ok, we got my car started up for the first time in monthes on Sat. after a complete disassembly of the engine bay, minus the engine and the major components. We took the whole intake off, the strut towers, the wiring harness was all disconnected, egr came out, resevoirs, etc.

Anyways, she's running with only a couple minor problems, but one major thing we found out was we went to change the fuel filter, and the line was so corroded we didn't wanna remove it, for fear of twisting the line and snapping it...

Obviously I gotta replace the fuel line and look into any other underbody rust spots. Shouldn't be too many... I live up north, but she's been garaged mostly.

Are braided steel fuel lines better? For what reasons? Aren't they stainless? That's a big reason... Also, what size lines do we have on a 3.1?? 3/8'ths? Anyone have an idea what it'd take? At 10' of line, I'm probably looking at around $60 or maybe a bit more, but at 6', it would be significantly cheaper. I have to measure the old line obviously when I get a chance, but anyone done this recently?

I really don't know much about doing fuel lines, how do I go about getting the fuel out of the line? Is this the same as relieving fuel pressure? What's the proper way to do this? I know someone said you pull the fuse for the fuel pump and then just run the car 'til it dies, but I wanna make sure I'm doing it right, and I don't want gas spray all over.
