So long, V6 guys.......

Well, it was going to happen sooner or later.

I've been bitten by the 'new ride' bug. Instead of the Z28 or IROC I had envisioned myself getting, I ended up in (gasp!) a front-wheel drive four cylinder. I happened upon a guy who was trying to unload an '85 Shelby Charger on short notice, so I snatched it up. Monetary concerns are forcing me to give up my '92 RS, and the Shelby was too good to pass on. All it needs is a tune-up, and a new throwout bearing. Plus, the guy tried to shim the front suspension to load the passenger tire for better launches, but ended up with a tire rubbing. That, and he installed a fart-can muffler. All easily fixable. Not bad for $600, eh? Yes, I know, the '85 is a Turbo I motor, and my tuning options are limited by the draw-through setup, but regardless, the Shelby should be stomping Civics and their ilk in no time. I just wanted to thank everyone at thirdgen.org for being the best automotive member site I have ever seen. I have yet to find an area of Camaro/Firebird concern that cannot be addressed on this site. The cars are cool here, and their owners, even cooler. Rest assured, though, the fire for F-bodies still burns fiercely within me, and after four Camaros, I'm not ready to call it quits yet.

See you all out there on the streets.

Sounds like a fun ride. Good luck to ya, and don't be a stranger around here just because ya got a different car. It's just a matter of time before the f-body bug gets ya again!
