Testing a MAF?

Is there anyway to really test my MAF. I bought a new one a few months ago becuase the old one was definetly bad. Now its throwing code 34. I want to know if there is any specific test I can do before I go and buy another goddamn sensor. It's allways something on this car heh, I can't catch a break. I did a search and someone said tapping on the housing while its running, but Im looking for something more reliable than that?
