1985 camaro 2.8 mpfi issues

I am working on a 1985 camaro 2.8fi auto it will fire vroom... then die imediatly (sorry bout the spelling) Anyways it has power to the ecm... has fuel pressure and has power to the injectors.... but as far as i can tell only the cold start injector is working.. thats why it fires and dies.... The dash is screwed up so i cannot check the codes any possibilites would be much appreciated.... h yea the fuses are all fine... including the two on the right fender under the hood... thanks in advance Matt

IS the main fuel injector harness hooked up?

You have vacuum hose leaks.
You need this.
Fix with 5/16" windshield wiper hose.
MIne did that once, too.
AND it could be fuel pump, too.

no... the fuel injectors are not fireing..... I have power to them but none of them fire.....ran fin then all of a sudden nothing dead.... new ecm new chip new fuel filter plenty of pressure i get fenough fuel to make the engine fire over when the cold start injector squirts.... but none of the actual injectors work... i can make it run as long as i want if i use gasoline and a squirt bottle.....

nice pic Karl, looks familiar

some excerpts from teh service manual:

-The cold start valve is not controlled by the ecm.
-Fuel is also not delivered if the ecm doesn't see any reference pulses from the distributor.


Look towards your ignition control module & ecm for a solution.
