Heater core

Ok just found out mine is leaking. How hard is it to replace. If it is a pain is it possible to by-pass it? I don't use the heater anyways so I don't care if it works I just don't want a lake in passanger side. floor board.

It's not technically hard, but trying to reach all those 7mm bolts from the inside of the car will leave your neck and back in pain.

I'm still regretting not putting a new heater core in back when I totalled my car in '96... I wound up putting my old core back in. Which reminds me... I think I had planned to replace that core this summer. Oops...

Well the job is done. It took me 4 and 1/2 hours. UGGGGHHH. Hardest part was taking the old hoses off. Through heat they became one with the heater core tubes. Fortunetly they give a little extra hose then what is needed. So I split the hoses and trimed them back. I had just enough hose length to put them back on.

Who ever came up with those squeze hose clamps needs to die!!! What would make a person think hey here's a hard to reach spot lets use squeze clamps that are large enopugh for you to need channel locks to squeze. Make no sense to me.
