they are really easy to make.....just get a cone filter and connect it to your throttle body....in your case you don't have to worry a/b a mass air flow sensor.
For one, beautiful car. As far as your intake goes, very easy to build, cheap too. Here is a lot of good info on moddin your thirdgen. Gives step by step on how to build your intake too. http://thirdgenmods.firebirdv6.com/

Get a stock GM Y intake from a '84-89 2.8l MPFI Camaro. Bolts in stock from GM. Extend IAT wires and you are good to go.

If you want to go for the stock look approach and have the cash to spare you can get the SLP cold air intake!

You can always get an Autozone conical ($20-$25) and go the Home Depot route...if you're not afraid of a little bit of ugly, that is. They work though!

You mean on the end of the plastic intake tube (NOT the flex tube)? For one, it won't fit with most conical filters. Most have a 3" rubber fitting...I'd say the end of that tube is at least 3 1/2 to 4 inches. I've tried it, trust me. Not to mention one of the reasons to build your own CAI is to get rid of the two harsh 90 degree angles in that main tube to promote more efficient intake flow. Now, a SHORT conical filter WILL fit on the end of the FLEX TUBE....but it sits right in front of the radiator so as soon as the car heats up, you lose buttloads of power.

i just gutted my box,
basically u have the round cylinder with the round filter inside
i took the cylinder that houses the filter and cut it so on that the only wal is between the filter and the engine
the front is wide open

) I have been very pleased with it. It also maintains a somewhat stock look, but yet aftermarket.
