If you're wanting more bottom end, a cam swap will do the trick. A decent low range cam is the Comp Cams 16-232-4.

Comp Cams V6 cams Scroll down to the 60/V6 section, its the second one down.

That cam won't really provide much extra in the low-end torque department.. it's more aggressive than the stock cam for cryin' out loud.. But I do feel the need to point out that these aren't torque motors in the first place. If you really want to try, though, the smaller cam above the aforementioned one would be the classic "torque cam" .. and it's about 2 whopping degrees off stock spec, too, so don't expect a whole lot. As for giving these motors torque?... uhm.. nothing productive from my department.. I see them as strictly HP motors.

Sorry man, but you do realize HP is derived from torque, right?

If you want a low end torque happy V6, you'll be looking into a supercharger. Nothing else will do the trick.

Well, maybe a set of 3.73+ rear gears...

HP is also a function of RPM. When I think 'torque motor', I think my v8 and the 250+ ft lbs I have available off-idle.. not the 160 the V6 peaks out at around 4 grand..

A blower would definitely be one of the few solution to the V6's utter lack of low-end torque.. but it defeats your "I have no need to go fast" part.. cuz it would scream. And be rather expensive.

Well, all I can do is speak from my own experience, and I've used that cam and the next one in the lineup myself. I did indeed notice better lower end response, but lets face it: these motors are not exactly roaring, earth shaking, stump pulling powerhouses. Anything you do short of some form of blower isn't going to gain a whole lot, at least compared to an 8. If you want a moderate increase in power for a daily driver, I still stand by that cam. Personally, I ended up using the third one on the list, and gave the other to a friend for his blazer. We're both happy now.
