WTF is up with my oil gauge
Ok like a week ago i look at my oil gauge and its pinned at 60... so i checked the oil .. it was fine. I think maybe its the sensor but it dont go below like 40 and it went to 0 twice while iding. WTF is up with this thing (85 guage cluster)

Sending unit's only 12 bucks.. replace ASAP.. if she still drops to zero, you've got a problem. Always take the gauge seriously, otherwise you're defeating the purpose of gauges.. meaning if it's reading zero, assume you've lost oil pressure and make the decision of what you consider more important.. getting where you're going or saving your motor. If it really dropped to zero and you just sat there idling, it's probably too late.. the damage to the main bearings, crank journals, rod bearings, lifters, cam lobes, cam bearings/journals, valve guides, etc has already been done, and is not going away. I'd take someone else's car to buy the sending unit..
Or if you're lucky like 614streets, you may just have an oil leak at the sending unit

its only dropped to zero twice. Today it was almost normal.. but im almost positive its the sending unit after driving it today cause the gauge twitches a lot. and it never used to before.
