Need help choosing fuel injection
I have a 1988 Chevy S10 with a 2.8 L V6 with TBI. I was wondering if it would be better to swap the MPI system off of a Camero / Firebird and if so, why? Any input would be greatly apreciated!

It'd be REALLY hard to do. The wiring being the biggest problem.
I'd personally, if I were in your shoes, get a later model 2.8's heads, rework them, with a new cam and put them on your car.

For the most part i'd agree with doward here. The later model Fuel INjected heads will outflow the carb or TBI heads that you have now, so that'd be a decent upgrade in itself, plus if you have the heads ported to flow better. Pull yourself a more powerful camshaft and swap it into place, pull the stock manifolds and plant some headers to the block, then i'd hook yourslef up with a roots blower with the TBI on top....614streets has some killer setups on 60* sixers which are to die for, and fit very snuggly under an s10's hood....you should get in touch with him about it, you wouldn't regret it...oh, and why no fuel injector (or MPI) is cause i'd expect a minimal increase in power from the swap, and the work to hp benefit is nearly zero, the MPG improvement would probably be nearly un-noticable also....put the money where it'll be felt best
dont forget the time and expensse....oh...
and if this was for "wow" factor, people will be much more wow'd by the blown 2.8, instead of the Fuelie 2.8 they find in junkyards all day long. best of luck bud...

To go to mpfi over TBI would be a little better benifit, and is just a few days worth of wiring.
go over to s-series.org, register, and they will walk you thru step by step. Several have done the swap.
I am one of 3 known that did the sfi swap, now that is some work!!
