85 camaro 2.8 gone back to carb

A guy i work with has an 85 camaro with a 2.8, he said hes tired of all the computer and sensor problems his car is having so hes ripping it all out and putting a new manifold and carb on it with an adjustable fuel regulator. I was wondering, how much hp do you guys think he will lose by doing this?

is he going 2bb or 4bb? Or are you gonna ask him not to wuss out & get the Fageol charger for it

If he goes 4bb, and **** emmisions aren't an issue, then he might gain some power w/the right setup.

i've considered goin 4 barrel on mine. i have the whole setup but you have to run a hood scoop, for clearance, and you gotta change the fuel pump which is not fun. carburaters don't like 40psi. plus linkage adjustments...blah blah blah.

Hes going 4 br. also carbs dont like 40 psi your right, hes using a fuel pressure regulator. His car is nuts, hes gone through like 4 mas, 2 ecms and a ton os other crap. He doesnt beat on it or anything. Ill see how his turns out , i kinda like the idea of no computer sh*t myself. anyone here did this yet? IF so can someone link me to any info, the guy doing it has no comp so im lookin on here for some info.

My friend Jarred (84tagoin81) did that for the most part. Hes got a holley 390 4bbl with the edelbrock torker intake. His was a carbed 84 but he ripped out all of the computer crap including the ecm.

Ya, you wouldn't necessarily have to replace the fuel pump, if you were willing to put a little thinking into another way of regulating fuel pressure. I've replaced the pump, and it's not fun at all. I'd rather find another way to do it personally.
