injector question

ok so I think I have a FUBARed injector in my 2.8. Since I am going to be putting new injectors in my 350 TPI, I was wondering if the old stock 350 injectors would fit into my 2.8?

Also, if I change the heads on my 2.8 with 3.1 heads, would it add any difference?

if you put the 350 injectors on your 2.8, you will run richer than you can ever imagine.

About the heads, I don't know.

ok so I'm guessing that would be a no go on the 350 injectors....what about 3.1 injectors?

the 3.1 injectors are 1lb rating more then the 2.8. You can physically install them, however, the engine will run slightly rich. Not as rich as your 350 injectors in it though

2.8 and 3.1 and 3.4 FUEL INJECTED heads all flow the same, no use in swapping.

If you can find a set of used 2.8 injectors is of course your best bet, but if you can get a set of used 3.1 injectors for resonable price, give them a shot, see what you think.

Doward here....

2.8 injectors = 13pph
3.1 injectors = 15pph
3.4 injectors = 17pph

350 injectors = 22 or 24pph, I can't remember.

so the best would be just to swap 2.8 for 2.8 and if I can't do that, then swap them for 3.1. I'm also thinking about doing a slight port and polish job on the runners, plenum and intake. Would the 3.1 injectors be more useful if I did this little mod? Also thinkin about cuttin my airbox out

With a port and polish, 3.1 injectors would prob be fine.

Dont bother cutting the airbox out (assume you have the dual snorkle like the v8?), it gains nothing, just remove the wind deflectors from it.
