tuner question

"It it does, then try something "more daring" like advancing the spark table (highway cruise range is the safest to start) and again drive around and watch if the spark advance has now changed based on the modification you made. "

What parameter would "highway cruise range" be called if your reading the bin from a prom with a tuner?

Hey, welcome the the boards. This board is V6 specific, so maybe you could try reposting in one of the computer boards.

It should be generic to all port injected computers, though. Was it funstick that posted that? He's a regular on the DIY PROM board, too...

So you're going to get into the PROM burning? Cool; let us know how it all works out! I had an ADS superchip; took it out on the recommendation of GlennL98 (another PROM dude), and I'll be damned but the car felt the exact same with the GM chip back in...

i agree, i had bought many hypertech chips in the past, installed them, and later find out after putting the stock chip back in that the car runs about the same W.O.T.

Yeah there is a highway mode. But im not sure which ECM your reffering to etc. would be nice to know however.

if youve got a 1228870 1228302 or a 1227730 and which mask id ? $1f $3a or $88 ?

Yes there is a highway spark mode in at least 2 of the Mask id's $3a and $88. i havent done much tunning with $1f to know for sure. i think i opened the TDF once to make sure it was similar to $3a. so it should have it.

Your gonna pick up a few MPG at best but itll take its toll on the engine.

best of luck. theres a tunning article over in the diy prom area called MAF and why its such a pita. Its all about tunning $3a and $1f. if you tunning with $88 look up the tunning articles for $8d there fairly similar
