Stopping in to say Hey!

Just stopping in to say hey! Anyone still around that used to be around like 2-3 years ago???

I miss F-Bodies.

I know I could buy a real nice one these days for like 4-5k, but I'd have no where to stick it.

besides, then I'd want to store it in the winter, along w/ wanting to store my Pace Car. not fair

I was cleaning out my bookmarks, and thirdgen.org was there, and I figured I'd stop in to my internet home for a good 2-3 years.

from time to time I still get e-mails regarding my DIY white faced gauges, or any mods I used to have on the ol' maro.

this was my car

and this is my car now.

just recently taken after my installation of new grilles and a SLP "GTX" Spoiler. It's a'98 Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 40th Anniv. Edition. 1321/1500, and only 1 of 200 w/ a factory sunroof.
@ my only track outing I managed a 13.96@98.45 w/ only $150 of mods. I love this car, and it's fast as hell (should be good for @ least 13.7 or better now, will see come spring-time)

I love the horsepower and torque of a supercharged 6, but I still wish it were RWD. But there's nothing like sitting behind the wheel of a 5-speed, t-top thirdgen TA (preferably in '89 Blue)

And yes, even the FWD guys, go out there and hunt Mustangs.

BnB has a SE, but he's an electronics guru.

I don't mind paying a little bit more more gas, the same for insurance, and being nearly 2 seconds faster than the GT's.

I just gas up on Monday where the gas station has premium 10 cents off, i.e. 5 cents more than regular. fuel economy, it's about the same as the GT gets.

i just can't justify "settling" on a GT, when the only downfall for a much faster GTP is slightly higher insurance (if it's 99 or newer) and paying 10-15 cents more per gallon for gas, while getting better fuel economy than a GT, after freeing up the exhaust, making a FWI, and slapping on a 3.4" supercharger pulley. -- otherwise stock it's about 2 mpg less than a GT city/hwy

I got te gp for the family car. If I wanted performance (and an a$$ kicking from wife) there was a 98+ T/A on the lot also. With both cars going to have the same engine, I can provide a unique perspective on modding the Bird & have a control w/the GP for those who also might have an inkling on this particular swap intheir 3rd gen F-body, and still want the uniqueness of a six. (had to work in some tech stuff )

that's the nice thing about a GTP, it can be a ***-kicker family car (if a 4-door)

or a ***-kicker performance coupe.

now before I rag on you for using a L36, I'll assume you used a F-body L36, and not a FWD L36. if you used a FWD one, I'll assume you'll CSC it. otherwise you need a hearty slap to the head for not using the blown motor.

if you were going to swap in another v6, wouldn't you want a hot v6? otherwise just v8 the sucker. i know, you all hear it all the time, and I'll admit I hated it. but then I got my '89 TA, and I was like why did I ever bother w/ a 6? we all learn sometimes. the TA turned out to have some things wrong, and the owner was such a nice guy, that he offered to give me my money back. too bad, it was a really pretty car too.

I still really want a F-Body, and was actively looking till the day I found out our sister dealership took in a '98 GTP Pace Car. (my dream GTP, and only dream FWD anything)

i found my alternative. can be made fast like f-body. can be a more utilizable year-round car. (but it's killing me to put it thru the winter, I feel bad, a car like this should be garaged)

I've allready owned a T/A, vintage 77, and that's the only kind I hive again. $200 for the L36 w/tranny, harness & ecm. That's why I doing it (beside serious probs w/harness after engine fire ) . Blocks are same for the 3800 Sereis II, fwd & rwd, just different intakes & injector locations for the heads.

And there wouldn't be any room for the CSC kit in the F-body, but there is the Powerdyne kit for it & a turbo kit also (made for 3.4 & 3800 F-bodies) so more power is available along w/the extra $$$$$$ if one's willing.
