2.8 that stalled
I want to thank the group for all of the excellent resources. I need to get another vehicle because my daughter started to drive and my insurance went up by 1500/yr. I found a clean 89 Corsica LT with a 2.8 MPFI that “needed an engine” for $200 that has 98K. I test drove it and had no problems until it warmed up and started to stall when I came to an idle.
I pulled the codes and had a 13, 44 (x4) and 45 (x3).
I found TomP's full tune-up post so I put in new plugs, wires (originals), changed fluids, and cleaned the IAC and throttle body.
Results, no stalling and car I am not afraid to let my drive and my insurance only went up $300/yr.
I still need to get the timing chain and all of the heater hoses changed, but the temp outside needs to get above freezing.
