mostly tunnel ram dragsters... alum high rise sheetmetal intakes..

the flanges are CNC cut then the sheetmetal is bent/folded/curved to make the runner shape and taper desired, and its welded up... then they make a sheetmetal plenum.

its still confusing as when I say sheet metal I mean real sheet metal. steel / tin what ever. aluminum is not "sheet metal" in my mind. yes you can buy it in sheets and it is metal 'alloy" but its not true sheet metal like the heater ducts in your house.

It seams like the wrong term to use. For me anyways.

I wonder if anyone made a true sheet metal intake. 1/16 in flimsy sheet. I do not tihnk you could even weld real "sheet metal" solider yes, weld no.

Thats why there are no "sheet metal" intakes as you are refering to. Too flimsly, change shaper too easily, you destroy what your tring to do.

And I am not looking to bend the tube real tight. At most a 6" radius to compliment the 6" round tube plenium. They will be kicked up though.
Take both middle fingers and thumbs and make a circle, seperate your thumbs some 2-3". Notice how the outter edges come out, but the center can stay the same? thats how this intake when built will work/look.
The center section will be from a 6" round tube. As far as mounting the TB, I will cut down excess tube to have it go smaller and then weld a mounting plate with the center drilled out. The runners will be welded to the center tube and wrap around the outside and flow to the bottom to match the lower manifold runner angle. So the runners will have a cut to match the angle to the base, and a "rounded" cut to match the center tube.

And BTW, the Variable length BMW intake as an electric motor to drive the "inner" plenium to adjust the runner length. Fairly easy to do, but $$$$.
