Fun and Cheap Mods

Now that I have my new motor in place, I figured I'd figure on a few fun modifications. Sonar got me spoiled on exhaust cut-outs (strikes fear in all, lol). I figured Id buy a single unit that can be opened from inside the car. I like the sound of the open 3.4 exhuast, very strong tone (especially for a 6 cyl.). For 40 bucks and some change I can install one right in front of the cat. Another mod I figure would be worth the effort, the Adjustable regulator. If anyone knows where to get a cheap one, let me know. I'd like to know of a few interior mods that can be done fairly easily too. I have the idiot lights in my car, I'd like to remedy that (at least the tach). Anyone who's done it, let me know. Oh yeah, the cooling fan thing....I just wire a grounded switch right? Anyone have other suggestions, let me know.

As far as interior goes... I believe 4th gen seats are a direct bolt in, so if you can find a 4th gen in a junkyard, try to score em for cheap.

Gauge cluster swap is pretty much a no-brainer.. just try to find a cluster from your year vehicle.. petty changes from year to year are annoying to keep track of. You'll also need a new oil pressure sending unit (gauge type instead of switch) and a new coolant temp sending unit (not coolant temp sensor.. two different parts)

Wiring a ground switch for the stock fan relay is definitely the easiest way to go about the fan switch.. Dark green/white stripe

Car: 85 firebird
Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
those manual fan switches get old very fast IF its the only means to turn the fan(s) on.

When i first got my car the fan didnt turn on at all because of the wires and relay being trashed in general.

I bought a hayden adjustable fan switch and a relay. With that and a 180 thermo the car runs at 180 all the time. :hail: PLUS when i do the 3.4 swap i wont have to mess with the stock fan sensor thingy in the passengers side head like others have..:lala:
