Fuel injector question?

As I stated in an earlier post, my car is running a terrible idle and is running quite rich. I took a pressure reading [45 lbs.]. It bled down to 0 between 15 and 20 minutes.
Question:

Are the fuel injectors supposed to be sealed air tight when they are not activated?

I pulled them out today and put fifteen pounds of air pressure on the inlet side of each one , with the exception of one, the other five leaked air from the output side. I inverted them and put a drop of acetone on the pintle end and shot air through the inlet end. They did leak.
I can't believe that five injectors could leak at the same time. I plan on replacing them with new ones , but I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not spending money that I don't have to. I also put an ohm meter across the terminals. they all read 16.5 ohms. this I belive is normal.

Any input would be appreciatd.

It looks like you have some bad injectors there.
Your car should hpld fuel pressure a lot longer than that.

i had the same problem with mine. my fuel pressure would drop about like that too. make sure theres no external leaks and check the fuel pump to see if that is bleeding down at all. if thats all ok, id say yours are bad. i priced them out, they were $90 rebuilt and $100 new a piece. i wouldnt recommend a junk yard with these. i guess you can have them cleaned, but i dont know of any places around so i just dropped a 3.4L in instead, lol.

I checked the fuel pressure twice before I decided to rip the injectors out.

Both times there was a twenty minute bleed down.

There are no visible leaks whatsoever. I replaced the pressure regulator along with every senor that is connected to the motor including the EGR valve, but it still ran rich.

The only other abnormality that I found was a torn air intake hose where it meets the throttle body. There was a chunk of rubber missing where the hose clamp is located. There is a possibility that air was getting sucked in bypassing the MAF sensor. I wonder if that would also cause the motor to run rich.

I'd guess that your injectors are bad and that it's a sign you should get a 3.4L.
