HURRY, need help adjusting IAC

I read the tech article but I'm having some problems. First problem. When are you supposed to REMOVE the paper clip? I put the clip in, waited 30 seconds, removed the IAC connector, and tried to start car but it wouldn't run unless I hold down the gas pedal. Makes it tough to adjust like that. What's up with that?

I always go with what's actually on the instruction sheet that i got with mine.

"Install IAC. Connect Electrical connector. Drive car for 2 mins above 40mph."

That's all it ever takes for me. Works perfectly every damn time.

What article are you looking at? I have never heard anything about using a paper clip to adjust the IAC.

That's the proceedure for setting absolute minimum idle, sixbanger... nothing to do with resetting the IAC. The IAC automatically resets itself in closed loop with the car travelling in excess of 45mph... so.. go for a spirited drive. It'll be fine by the time you get back.
