ECM failure, problems abound...

Okay, My mechanic discovered the cause of my miss and never ending code 44. My ECM is junk. Now, the good part: I went to GM and bought a new one, put in in and the engine light came on and stayed. I attempted to scan the system with a Snap-on unit- No communication. SO, I went back to GM and they exchanged the ECM (and told me they'd only do it once...). The new one has a strobing SES light, it WILL talk to the scanner, but gets a "Communications Mismatch" error. The data it does give is crazy stupid and the car struggles to idle when being scanned. Any ideas? All of the wiring is right, no shorts. The original ECM was fine except for a fault on the O2 sensor circut. Any help would be appreciated.

Found out

At least I think I did. I believe it was either PROM or Memcal failure? Either way, I got a ECM from a junkyard, slapped it in and it works great. It came with its own chips, so I believe mine were just wiped or somthing.
