SES light, and poorly running

This morning, my SES light came on and the car felt like it was running real rich. It was bogging down and such. I tried to pull the code, but got nothing but the 12's. Any ideas?

Perhaps it's actually throwing code 12 (no distributor reference pulse) ... It's not an 'all clear' code.. it's just unavoidable for it to be set because when they key is 'on' and the engine is not running there is no reference pulse. This would hint at ignition module failure or faulty wiring.

When I drove home after school there was no light, and the car ran great...wierd. The ICM is fairly new, I suppose there could be a burnt wire or something though.

OK....I checked the codes incorrectly. Turns out I have a 34 and a 42.

Suggestions on where to start?
