stumble

Hey guys,

I need some help here. I've developed a real stumble on my car. It can happen at any speed and any rpm. If i accelerate or recel than I can usually get it to stop, but it's been getting worse and I have no idea of what can cause this.

thanks

When I first bought my car, it would stumble under hard acceleration. Fresh set of AC Delco plugs and it was as good as new.

Make sure the ignition timing hasn't changed due to a loose distributor bolt. I've had mine loose when setting the timing, reved and the dist would creep closer to TDC on every test rev. A big symptom is mainly using more gas, or louder than normal exhaust and lack of power in some cases.

Hm, also check for vacuum leaks. Could have a leak that happens on occasion like with a cracked hose.

Things to check:
1) Coil,
2) Cap, Rotor, Module
3) Loose cables
4) plugs
5) as mentioned; timing.
6) those connections to the coil, and the dist (the little 18 gauge wires with plugs and stuff).
