Car has returned
Got my car back today, after 2 weeks at the mufler shop. Hedders are on now (Heddman longtubes), they required quite a bit of coaxing to make them fit. Custom Y pipe is 2 1/2" all mandrel bends into the cut-out before the cat. It was raining all day, so I couldn't test it out yet (did notice more power though). The sound is awesome closed and open. No more ***** higher RPM sound. Can't wait to run it again.

Lol @ Brobert! But yeah, the EGR lined up, it was the rest of the hedders that didn't
. The driver side one had to have the collector bent down (it would touch the floor pan and not fit otherwise). The passenger side had to be SEVERLY modified, The runners had to be bent down to make it fit, even when it finally did, it is laying in the corner quite tight. The bolts that were sent were the wrong thread pitch (maybe because of the 3.4L?). But, they are on now. Cost me a pretty penny for the shop to do it though. Now I need to make the intake modifications, ought to be a cakewalk. My aluminum is coming next week (free, yay!). I'll take some pics for you guys when the rain stops. All in all, I am pleased, yet disappointed. Spending money annoys me, lol

Stange they didn't fit- what year is your car ?, and is it altered in the engine bay by any reason from other modifications or accident? I have seen a set of Hookers on a 84 Firebird that are identical to the Heddmans with no modification to them at all. (I know the Heddman's and Hookers are identical because I owned both sets at the same time. I think I told you before that I bought them trying to summit them to C.A.R.B. for approval after I added the EGR fitting- but they wanted a few thousand for the E.O.#, so I abandonded that venture.
Edit: I see on your info to the left column that you have a '86 Camaro- They box label read 82-90 Camaro/Firebird and they were sold in '90 (thats why no 91 or 92) DId they hit your frame, or interfere with something else?

Frame
On the pass side they hit the frame (I'll show you when I take pics tommorow). It was all general interfereance. I couldn't understand why they didn't fit myself, they fit NOW lol. The muffler shop said it took them 3 days to get them in (I have my doubts). What's worse is that during my previous attempt at installing them, I managed to lacerate my shin bad enough to require stitches
. Oh well. My biggest gripe is that the hedders ended up costing me more than the motor swap! I refuse to say how much I payed, let's just say it was enough that I could have nearly went direct port nitrous....Yeah, I know...
