Its cold an AIR pump silencer. Its right near where the Y-pipe connects to the manifold. Is about 3 inches tall and is round and has a small hole on the bottum of it. The book I have calls it an AIR pump silencer?

i know what you're talking about. If it's got a hole in it, it's fine. The only point of it is to make the air pump quiet when it's dumping, but if your car is anything like mine, you'll never notice wheather it's making noise from there or not, the motor covers the sound quite nicely. Don't stress about it.
