So what'd i do to my SES light?
alright, here's the story....i just finsihed my 4th gen dash swap, and after completion the SES light doesn't come on. I had this thought that maybe it was a burnt out bulb, so i replaced it with a bulb known to be good, still no light. Also, i tried to put my car into diagnostic mode, i hooked the code reader up my ALDL terminal, and get this one. After hooking it up, i'm getting nothign from it. The little light won't come on either, so, that must mean that somethign's wrong w/ the system or circuit. I'm assuming it's either a wiring gremlin, or my ecm is crapped.
Another note which is probably important is that the when i had the dash out, i hadn't disconnected the battery yet. A little connector that goes to a metal box on the passenger side (not the computer) touched the ECM, there was a spark as i grabbed the terminal and pulled it asside, then disconnected the battery like a dummy. Given that all the lights are working on the vehicle, i'm guessing it's not a fuse, and most likely somethings fried, what ya think? if so, i guess i'll boneyard it and find myself a computer for the little 2.8 to see if that'll fix my woes.

If the fuel pump doesn't prime either I'd take a look at the fuses mounted in the weatherpack connectors on the passenger's side fender. One of those two fuses is dedicated to the protection of the ECM and fuel pump circuits. Also, when you disconnected the ECM (which I am sure you may have had to) to install the dash, you may have inadvertently pushed one of the power/ground wires out of the back of the ECM connectors. Also check to see if the HVAC blower works. If it doesn't, check the fuses and the ECM connectors for damage. For some reason the HVAC blower is tied into the ECM (other than for the A/C).
