3.8 Non Turbo good? No good?

3.8 Non Turbo good? No good?

Where there any 3.8 nonTurbo's ever made. I'm new to the bord and 3rd gens just got my first one (a 91 3.1L Firebird) was thinking about puting a 3.8 in I have heard good things about the Turbos from other people. Is what I have heard the same for nontubos or are they pices of crap. thx

Yes their were 3.8 non turbos, 1982-88 Regals base models came with them, correct senior members? (Not totally sure about years )

Not sure how they performed tho. Sorry

Them Regals is one reason I never liked the early 3.8. Seen several non turbo 3.8 **** coolant out the tail pipe. With the engine running fine. Thay had some bad problem with the #6 back cylinder. Id stick to the later years, close to 88 as possiable.

Engine: 3.1...not hardly stock
Transmission: 700r4....not stock either
Axle/Gears: 3.73
4 the gen camaro and birds had 3.8s, non-turbo. you will have a hard time getting a 3.8 in the engine bay. good luck if you decide to do it though.
