Help got a code 45 today!
Hey guys,
I was driving along today and my SES light came on and stayed on for a few mints. It then turned itself back off.
My car has been having ruff idle and stalling at sometimes when you blimp the throttle, when it idles ruff if you drive the crap outta the car it will act fine afterwards.
It started doing this weird idle and stalling when I was on vaction in Oklahoma. I drove the car back(1000 miles to Tucson) without any issues.
I was worried it might be the fuel pump at first(I changed my fuel filter the other day in hope that might be the issue) still does it at times tho.
Then the code 45 showed up today. This is the first time I have ever seen the ses light come on while driving since I got the car in feb 04, could the code 45 mean I should change the 02sensor and could that be the weird issues my car is having?
How many 02 sensors do we have(havent looked to see yet.)
Thanks for the help

Could be a code 45 is a rich exhaust code could be the oxygen sensor, restricted air filter, or a malfunctioning carb/Fuel injector. These are just some of the things that can cause that code try the filter and oxygen sensor first and see what happens.

I just installed the new 02 Sensor in teh car, pulled the cable to clear the code's, Now in a few I am going to take her out and give her some fresh schooling (reteach the computer) Hope this help out. The car just flipped 81k not very long ago so it was due to go or should be replaced anyways and its a 21.00 part so no biggie, better than a 900.00 fuel pump job (hope its not that) Thanks for all the help
